Yateley Lodge No. 9107

Last evening Colin Wicks was bear carer for the visit to Yateley Lodge No 9107. The meeting was attended by 46 brethren and also had the pleasure of an official visit from the APGM William Withers . It was a privilege to attend the meeting with Colin and sit on the lodge Secretary's table, and to able to great delight in caring for the cheque for £2,421 that was presented to the APGM in aid of RMTGB, which takes Yateley Lodge very close to achieving their Gold certificate. At the Festive Board Brethren paid £1 to have their photo taken with and this money will also be allocated to charity. One of the photos includes posing with the lodge Chaplain and the Provincial Deputy Grand Chaplain - God Bless us (or them)!! Also there is a picture in the lodge on the shoulder of the new WM Bob Hall.

Elvetham Lodge No.4013

During August 2014 Elvetham Lodge No.4013 held their Ladies Festival, and a most enjoyable occasion that was as a guest of the Lodge. It was particularly pleasurable therefore to be able to make what may be considered to be a Ninja visit in the company of bear carer Colin Wicks to the meeting of Elvetham Lodge at the Basingstoke Masonic Hall on Monday evening. Colin has taken some excellent pictures, having demanded admission being seated at the secretaries table, and then in... the company of the Lodge secretary, Chaplin and bear carer Colin, and afterwards being hosted at the festive board. There was even an opportunity to be photographed with the APGM; W.Bro. Jon Whitaker.  For the next few days time will be spent at the home of Colin Wicks awaiting the visit to Yateley Lodge on the 7th. May. However you never know where Colin may arrive with that Square Bear travelling rucksack.

Ladies Festival, Prince of Wales Lodge No.1705

After spending time resting at the home of Andrew Paice and his wife Sharon following last weeks visit to Prince of Wales Lodge Saturday evening was spent again in their company sharing in the celebration of the ladies at the Prince of wales Lodge Ladies Festival. Andrew has submitted his report of Square Bear adventures for last week copied below.

"After spending the week in my wife Sharons company during the day and with the family in the evenings, we made a visit to my, The Prince of Wales Lodge No 1705 on Thursday evening. We not only celebrated St Georges Day but it was also our Past Masters Night.

W.Bro Ron Benner who has lived in France for some years now, came over to not only take the chair for the evening which he last occupied in 1974, but also to receive his 50th year in masonry certificate, this was presented by the Provincial Grand Senior Warden.

Also for this special evening Ron had requested that his Wardens for the evening be W.Bro Rod Bouskill (S.W.) and W.Bro Alf Spencer.

It was the Raising of Bro David Carter and the ceremony went without a hitch and the officers for the evening performed it in an excellent manner.

At the festive board some 50 brethren enjoyed an excellent traditional roast beef meal in great company, the hall was decorated in St George style, which Square Bear and myself had decorated earlier.

On Saturday morning we were up bright and early to decorate the Masonic Hall for Ladies Night, Square Bear helped me by putting the swags up and then helped Sharon lay the tables.

The evening celebrations were fantastic, a lovely meal again, fantastic company and he had a photograph taken with many people.

W.Bro Nigel Moran ( Our W.M ) and his Lady Joanne had a very enjoyable time and W.Bro Andrew Paice ( MYSELF) sang the Ladies Song and gave out roses has he moved around the room.

Their was lots of dancing and fun with the various auctions that we had and the raffle in aid of the R.M.T.G.B., an excellent sum was raised and also some further pledges towards W.Bro Nigel and My self's "Free Fall" that we are both doing in October, again in aid of the R.M.T.G.B."

Pictures of the Lodge visit have already been posted but here are all those taken enjoying the company of guests.

Thank you to Andrew and Sharon, all the brethren and guests of the Prince of Wales Lodge.

Prince of Wales Lodge No.1705

Prince of Wales Lodge in the company of bear carer Andrew Paice was the visit of last evening. Gosport Masonic Centre is always a lovely temple to visit and many new friends were made, in particular had chance to meet up with Passport Bear, my word he is a big chap, I can see overindulging at festive board could result in growing to that size. The journey to the lodge was in an open top car with the sun shining down a lovely way to travel, an even better way to arrive. All th...e brethren were most welcoming. Some excellent pictures have been taken in the temple and at the festive board. Many thanks to everyone and especially to Andrew Paice who is still bear carer. Staying at his home resting for a few days as on Saturday evening is the occasion of the Prince of Lodge Ladies Festival. That is sure to be another wonderful event celebrating the ladies. If you are there please come and say hello, perhaps you would like your picture taken to record and share your evening. See you soon.

Gurston Down Hill Climb

A wonderful day in the company of Richard Lovell-Butt on Saturday at the Gurston Down Hill Climb. The racing car was specially prepared with suitable seat belts and a great view was had from the front seat. Particularly enjoyed waving at the crowds feeling like a true celebrity. Richard is a smashing host who always provides a remarkable experience. Many thanks Richard. If you visit Facebook Bear on the Square Richard has posted a video of the drive  in the car up the hill. Cosham Lodge No.6912

Well last night was a rather different sort of an evening. Firstly I have spent the last couple of days with A.P.G.M. Mark Mills-Goodlet and his lovely family at his home. You may have seen the picture on Facebook taken with his children. We really had a fun cuddly time. Then last night I visited Cosham Lodge with the APGM being bear carer. Cosham Lodge had what they refer to as their "Coppers Night". If you have never been try and get an invite for next year. It was important to be on best behaviour otherwise it would have meant spending a night in the cells.

Many thanks to all at Cosham Lodge for a great evening.

St. Vincent Lodge No.5295

Last Wednesday evening was the visit to St. Vincent Lodge and care bearer for the evening was the Worshipful Master, John Pearson, a real privilege to have the W.M. act as bear carer as the Master is always such a busy brother. John and all the brethren made much effort to make the evening special. Many pictures were taken and some of them have been sent by John, others will be made available later. A report of the meeting has also been written by John and is copied for you h...ere.

" On the 8th April 2015 I was invited to St Vincent Lodge No 5295 by their WM, W. Bro John Pearson for the Raising of Bro. Daniel Baldwin-Smith.

Unfortunately, their Visiting officer was unable to be present due to Provincial duties, so I stood in for him and sat in the East next to W. Bro Bill Griffiths during the ceremony.

It was an excellent ceremony and all the officers taking part did an exceptional job. The candidate conducted himself extremely well and I see a bright masonic future for him.

Afterwards, I joined the members and visitors in the bar for refreshments before sitting down at the top table for a truly amazing meal, which was "babies heads" (steak and Kidney Pudding to the uninitiated).

It was wonderful evening with the Brethren of St Vincent Lodge and I look forward to joining them again sometime soon."

The pictures are taken with the candidate, Dan Baldwin Smith and Anthony Frasle. Sitting in the East waiting for the ceremony to begin and a particular favourite with the W.M. W.Bro. John Pearson.
